Meet the photographer

Hey, my name is Eric Konchou

I'm a photographer, videographer, and creative based in Maryland. Through Eric Edits, I use photography and video to capture people, experiences, and moments in a way that feels intentional, authentic, and meaningful.

What started as a way to stay connected to a sport I loved eventually became a creative journey of its own. Today, I’m focused on creating visuals that do more than document a moment, they tell its story.

The Visual Story Teller Behind Eric Edits

MY JOURNEY

From the soccer field to behind the camera.

My journey into photography started with soccer.

Around 2021, a soccer injury led to multiple surgeries on my legs and kept me away from the sport for a long time. I couldn’t play, try out for teams, or experience soccer the way I had before. And when I was finally cleared to return, I had been away from the game for so long that finding my way back wasn't easy.

But I still wanted to be around the sport I loved.

So I found another way in.

I picked up a camera.

In 2023, I began taking photography more seriously, first taking photos for my sister and eventually finding my way into sports photography. What started as a way to stay connected to soccer became an outlet for something I had always had a passion for: art and creativity.

For a while, sports photography was where I found my place. But I always knew I wanted to do more.

In march of 2025 I began taking photoshoots more seriously and started branching beyond sports. Portraits, birthdays, events, and creative concepts gave me something sports couldn't — the ability to build a moment from the ground up.

Instead of simply reacting to what was happening, I could create the environment, direct the subject, shape the details, and tell the story exactly how I envisioned it.

That was when I realized this could become something much bigger.

THE EVOLUTION OF ERIC EDITS

More than just photography.

Eric Edits started as a name my sister came up with. What began as a simple idea eventually became a creative brand that represents my growth, my work, and the stories I get to be a part of.

Then, in February 2026, I expanded into videography.

Video gave me an entirely different way to create. I could capture movement, sound, atmosphere, and the moments between the moments. It allowed me to take the same storytelling mindset I had developed through photography and bring it into motion.

Since then, Eric Edits has continued to grow beyond just capturing images.

It's becoming a creative experience.

MY APPROACH

I don't just want to capture the moment. I want to capture what it felt like.
Every project is different, but my approach always starts with intention.
Whether I'm photographing a birthday, capturing an athlete, documenting an event, or creating a video, I want the final product to feel like you.
I pay attention to the details, the environment, the expressions, the movement, the atmosphere, and the moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.
I'm not interested in creating something that simply looks good.
I want it to mean something.

WHAT IS A VISUAL STORYTELLER?

To me, being a visual storyteller means more than taking a good photograph or creating a beautiful video.

It's about understanding what exists behind the image.

The emotion.

The personality.

The energy.

The relationships.

The atmosphere.

The details.

The moments you don't necessarily notice at first.

A photograph can show you what happened, but a great photograph can make you feel like you were there.

That's what I strive for with every project.

I want someone looking at my work to feel the excitement of the celebration, the confidence of the person in front of the camera, the intensity of the game, or the emotion of a moment that only happened once.

If you can feel it through the screen, I've done my job.

Whats Next?

I wouldn't be where I am today without the people who trusted me before there was much to trust.

My sister, my cousins, and my family were some of the first people to put a camera in my hands and give me opportunities to practice. They let me experiment, learn, make mistakes, and grow.

Those early experiences gave me something that equipment never could: experience.

Every shoot, every project, every person I've worked with has contributed to the photographer and storyteller I'm becoming.

With that being said.

I see Eric Edits going far beyond where it is today.

I want to continue growing in photography and videography, take on larger creative projects, explore filmmaking, photograph weddings and major events, and eventually open a studio of my own.

But more than anything, I want Eric Edits to become a place where art, storytelling, and experience come together.

I'm still learning. Still experimenting. Still creating.

And I'm excited to see where it takes me.

More than a photograph. More than a video.

A story, captured.
